United Nations
Human Settlements Programme (UN-HABITAT)
UN-HABITAT is the United Nations agency for human settlements. It is
mandated by the UN General Assembly to promote socially and environmentally
sustainable towns and cities with the goal of providing adequate shelter
for all. This mission is achieved through policy formulation, institutional
reform, capacity building, technical cooperation, monitoring and advocacy.
Its objective is to support governments and other partners.

and Development Centre, Loughborough University
An institution concerned with education, training, research, and consultancy
relating to the planning, provision, and management of infrastructure
for development. WEDC is devoted to activities that improve the health
and well-being of people living in both rural areas and urban communities.

solid waste, transportation, urban services, knowledge management and
