A pregnant woman in Zambia rides in the back of a pick-up truck for an emergency visit to a clinic. Obstetric fistula is a problem for pregnant women and develops when the blood supply to the vagina and bladder or rectum is cut off during labour. A hole forms through which urine/faeces pass uncontrollably. Women with fistulas are often rejected by their husbands and their communities and forced to live an isolated existence.
