I found the piece on One Size Fits All? Approaches to Inclusive Education interesting. However, given the title and reference to White Paper 6 may create the impression that we believe in a one size fits all approach. This is incorrect. The approach of the white paper recognizes the need for a pedagogical response that embraces diversity. This is one of the main thrusts of the white paper when it talks to barriers to learning. The white paper does not suggest for a moment that providing equal opportunities for all citizens we would arrive at social equality. Whilst the paper has a pro poor stance, it also makes sufficient space for addressing barriers to learning relating to the specificitities of contexts and learners that must be addressed.
